These terms describe the conditions for using PYE's website, publishing services, eBook purchases, online reading, and free personal eBook tools. Separate publishing contracts, purchase terms, and applicable law may govern particular transactions.
1. Accounts and access
Users must provide accurate information, use accounts they are authorized to control, and safeguard access to their accounts. PYE may restrict access where reasonably necessary to address misuse, security risks, rights violations, or legal obligations. Some services require Google sign-in, and optional Google Drive features require separate Google authorization.
2. Books, purchases and reading rights
Book prices, availability and purchase instructions are displayed through PYE. Approved purchases or grants provide the applicable access to read books within PYE; they do not transfer copyright or grant unrestricted redistribution rights. Pre-order cancellation and refund provisions are described in the Publishing Policy. Nothing in these terms removes rights that applicable consumer law provides.
3. Author and publisher submissions
Submitting an author application or manuscript does not guarantee approval, publication, a specific royalty, or a publication date. Applicants must hold the necessary rights and permissions for submitted content. Authors and publishers remain responsible for the accuracy, originality, legality, and required permissions for their work. Publication arrangements, royalties, distribution rights, and fees must be agreed separately where applicable. Applying as an author may be free even when later publishing arrangements involve agreed charges.
4. Editorial and reviewer services
PYE may perform preliminary screening and human or AI-assisted editorial review. This is not automatically a formal academic peer-review certification. Approved reviewers must respect manuscript confidentiality, use assigned materials only for their authorized review, and avoid unauthorized disclosure or redistribution. PYE retains responsibility for its final platform publication decisions.
5. Free PDF conversion and personal EPUB reading
Free eBook tools are provided for personal documents that users own or have permission to use. Users must not upload, convert, distribute, or access files in violation of copyright, privacy, or other applicable laws. Text-based PDF conversion may not preserve images, equations, tables, fonts, or original layout; scanned PDFs may not be supported. Availability and technical limits may change to protect the service.
6. Optional Google Drive integration
When available, Google Drive integration lets users select personal EPUB files and save file references in their PYE library. The original files remain under the user's Google Drive account. Users control Google authorization and may remove references or revoke access. Access to a file can fail if permissions expire, files are moved or deleted, or Google's service is unavailable. PYE does not acquire ownership of the user's Drive content.
7. Prohibited conduct
Users must not attempt to bypass purchased-book access controls, access another user's private manuscripts or Drive files, misuse APIs, upload malicious files, impersonate others, interfere with the platform, or publish content without the necessary rights. PYE may investigate and address reported misuse consistent with applicable law.
8. Third-party services and availability
PYE uses third-party services that may have their own terms and privacy practices, including Google authentication and Drive, hosting, payment-related services, and AI or editorial providers. Features may be interrupted or unavailable due to maintenance, external provider changes, security requirements, or technical limitations.
9. Liability and legal rights
PYE aims to provide reliable services but cannot promise uninterrupted operation, error-free conversions, or compatibility with every file. Responsibilities and remedies are subject to applicable law and any specific written agreement. These terms do not exclude liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded.
